All fiberglass parts are hand laid up, using woven cloth and polyester resin, and the deck, fin, and rudder employ Balsa-core construction. All fins are detachable, and are reinforced with Carbon-Fiber. The newer, thin generation of fins are vacuum-bagged, and employ a bias layer of Carbon cloth for torsional stiffness, as well as a much higher Carbon content for increased stiffness in bend. The thin rudders are also vacuum-bagged. The bumper is molded from Silicone RTV. The leads are cast in two halves, and predrilled for joining. All hulls are trimmed, and have the inwhales and transom installed in the mold.


Kevlar hulls are supplied in clear only, with the inwhales and transom installed. They are laminated using Vinyl-ester resin for increased impact strength. No deck is supplied with the exception of the ADVANTAGE, CELEBRATION, and CHINOOK. A "film" type of deck is recommended. Kits with the thin fins are now supplied with a Carbon-Fiber (fiberglass for the IOMs) keel-trunk assembly, which also forms a trunk for the keel-stepped mast. This greatly simplifies accurate assembly. Deluxe Kits have the fin and rudder aligned and installed, and come with our 7 hour long VHS Video Instruction Manual. On the VIPER+ Deluxe Kit, the STING Rig trunk is also aligned and installed, but it must be purchased separately (included in the Rigging Kit for the STING Rig.) If you purchase a CELEBRATION Deluxe Kit with Deck Installed, two small additional access hatches are cut in, plus all deck fittings and a Pekabe bow pulley for the winch sheet turnaround, are supplied and installed.
