Shipwrecks Galore

Long time ago I figured out why people like auto racing, it is a chance to hopefully see a auto wrecks on the speedway! To prove my point how many times have you been in a traffic jam because everyone in front of you has to slow down to take a good look at an auto wreck? Shipwrecks are no different. The only thing different is once a shipwreck happens (one way or another), you can never see the results. Well now you can. With deep-sea exploration technology and with computer technology, you can now see shipwrecks for yourself.

In the October's 31, 1999 issue of The Arizona Republic's Access Internet Magazine edition, there are five short articles (and Internet Web sites) on famous shipwrecks in history. The first article is on the Titanic, what else. This Web site is rated five stars so it offers good information and photos on the Titanic, the url is: www.discovery.com/area/science/titanic/titanicopener.html

The next Web site is on the Battle of Midway. I enjoyed this on and it too is rated five stars. Its url is: www.nationalgeographic.com/features/98/midway

If you are into pirates, you will enjoy this one on Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge. This Web site is rated five stars also. Its url is: www.ah.dcr.state.nc.us/qar

The forth Web site is on La Salle. It provides good information on this shipwreck. It is rated three stars. Its url is: www.thc.state.tx.us/belle

The fifth Wed site is on the Mary Rose, on of King Henry VIII's favorite warship, (at least he liked ships and did not sink it). Its rating is three stars and the url is: www.maryrose.org

All of these Web sites offer any ship enthusiast something interesting. Don't let a three star rating stop you (you picture lovers). Take some time and learn some good history. That is something worth stopping for.
