I use alkaline batteries for my yacht's receiver batteries. As I have stated in previous articles, the humble alkaline is cheep, last a long time and has the power I need. All I have to do is test the batteries from time to time to see if they still have good amount of power left in them.
Now with a battery tester on each battery, I now don't have to worry. Before a regatta or at a break during a regatta, all I have to do is take each battery and press on the two test spots. The batterie's tester tells me if the cell is good or not! What else can I say, they just keep going and going and going...
