Blind Building Material

erry Muridge has discovered a new building material for deck beans for model yachts. Apparently, Jerry spotted in his neighbor’s trash bin some plastic venetian blind slats, and could not resist trying them out. According to Jerry, the plastic venetian blind slats are easy to cut or saw through, sands nice, and glues well with CA or epoxy. Currently, Jerry has just decked a 1 Meter model yacht and the beams cut from the plastic venetian blind slats worked great.T
he plastic venetian blind slats that Jerry is using are 1/8 inch thick, white in color, and have a simulated wood grain surface. If you’re interested, plastic venetian blind slats can be obtained from stores that sell venetian blinds. Because the 3/8 inch wide deck beans are light in weight and are water proof, they make another great building material for model boating!
